Winter Review

Just a quick run down on our last 6 months.  For the winter season we got to move out of our trailer and into a cabin.  Most missionaries had to down size-we on the other hand had 3 time the room that we had during the summer.

We accumulate 143 inches of snow, but it pretty much melted about as fast as it came.  Wish we'd have gotten more.

I got to learn how to drive the skidster and had fun removing the snow in the 5 camp sites we were hosts for.

We were able to host and assist many Scout, Youth, Family and other types of fun groups who came to enjoy the snow and warm cabins.

We even found someone who looked like "Waldo"

Had a lot of fun when family would come up for the day of sledding.

The Missionaries even took an afternoon off and did some playing of our own.

Even tried blazing a new sled run.

But the thing that keep us busy during the week was replacing the bunk beds in 50 of the 137 cabins here at Heber Valley Girls Camp.

We began by having to tear out the old beds that were built in and nailed to the cabin walls.

When all the old beds had been removed, we replaced them with moveable-freestanding, and shorter bunk beds.

This made for a neater and roomier cabin.

We ended up for this winter season replacing 800 beds (400 bunk beds). Only 87 more cabins to do and 1392 bed (696 bunks) left to do next winter.  PS-There is a really big possibility that we will be spending another winter here (total of 2 years) and with a little head start on things and now knowing what we are doing, will try and get them all done!!

This is where we will park our trailer for the next summer season.

Right between these 2 trees.

These are the 9 couples that helped make it all happen.  They are now friends for life.

Theses 2 pictures will provide a hint as to our new assignment for this summer.

More fun and adventure and making this camp a place where all can come and feel the spirit and get closer to their  Heavenly Father.

But for the  next week or two we get to go home, relax and

enjoy family and friends.
Love you all-Elder & Sister Hendrickson
