A Day (or 2) In The Life Of A Heber Valley Camp Service Missionaries

Heber Valley Camp has 137 Cabins.
Each cabin contains 16 beds

Or 8 bunk beds depending on how you count them.

That makes for 2192 beds or 1096 bunk beds.

The Managing Directors decided to tear out all 2192 beds,

or 1096 bunk beds (depending on how you count them)

and strip each cabin down to the bare walls

and bare rooms

and replace them with

2192 beds

or 1096 bunk beds depending....

This is where we come in.  They asked me to be in charge of getting this project done and projected that it would be a 3 year endeavor.  We have been working on it for 10 months now, taking most of the summer off doing our other duties while the girls and family campers have been here.  As of today's date-September 16th, 2014 we have completed 91 cabins or 1456 bed or 728 bunk beds.  If the bed supplier could have kept up with us, we would have had the other 46 cabins or 736 beds (368 bunk beds) done by the end of November, approximately 1 year from the start.  But they can only give us 100 beds a month, so this 3 year project will be completed in January 2015

Our other duties during the summer have been to build nice things for the camp including picture frames

and letter holders...etc

and to make new signs where needed,

and to help make things more 'user friendly'.

Another girls camp near by asked me to make them signs of all the Young W omens Values.

Continuing on with the 'Day in the Life' -

One of our other duties this summer

was to clear all the winter and summer storms down fall

off the out back roads

and trails

so that they where passable to all the hikers and 4 wheedlers.

So there you have it.

This is what we do as a 'Day in the life of a HVC service Missionary!
